PuntDrunk: The Bopper Is Set For A Return At Rosehill On Saturday
Punt Drunk | Friday – January 15 2021
Friday you beautiful bastard how the bloody hell are ya? You arrive every week when we need it most! It’s the day that once it hits midday we have our mind set on how our Saturday plays out and this week it involves doing the form for the Magic Millions Race Day! There’s only 24 hours left to prepare yourself punters for what is one of the best days on the calendar for all involved!
One down, one to go!

It was a very tidy debut performance from Fake Love, racing clear of her rivals at Caulfield under Mark Zahra for @cmaherracing and @eustacedj ?pic.twitter.com/g0Q5c9DYC7

As we mentioned yesterday, Fake Love was due to undergo a vet’s examination on Thursday morning and we can confirm that there was a lot of ass clenching with connections praying to anyone that would listen in hopes of keeping the dream of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic alive. Well, it’s not all smooth sailing just yet, Racing QLD vets were happy to clear the Maher and Eustace 2YO but insisted on another inspection on Friday morning. Considering he’s a $14 shot in the market you would hope he is cleared fit to run as he has shown plenty of ability in his career to date.
This guy could be anything!

First off we told you about Enthaar, now we’re jumping on the bandwagon of The Bopper. The Kris Less trained gelding is set to resume at Rosehill on Saturday as a $1.95 shot in the second race on the card. The last time we saw him at the races he absolutely shifted in the Brian Crowley Stakes at listed level, and if that performance is anything to go by he is set for a successful autumn campaign as a three-year-old. If you’re brave enough to take the $1.95 we are right with you because we think this guy could be anything, and if Rachel King can steer him home we’ll be happier than a pig in shit!
A price well paid?
Lot 500 @mmsnippets gets sold to @cmaherracing for $1.2 million after originally being passed in. Filly by I Am Invincible out of Maastricht. pic.twitter.com/bX0nWFIT0Z

Ciaron Maher and David Eustace clearly had one plan at the Magic Millions Sales on Thursday: Mission- Get Loving Gaby’s sister, the filly by I Am Invincible out of Maastricht. They picked her up for a cool $1.2 million. Now Loving Gaby was an out and out Star for the stable before being retired last year, and it’s safe to say they held her in high regard. However we have seen many horses be purchased at the Magic Millions sales for a hefty price tag and go on to do not much, but we can only hope she’s one that we can follow for a long time!
But, do you know how many Parma’s we could have bought with $1.2 million? A lot.
