For the first time, racing will be held under lights on the Gold Coast, where an eight-race meeting is set down for decision on Friday. The $250,000 Magic Millions Debut (1000m) headlines proceedings on a track that is expected to be in the Heavy range following plenty of rain at the start of the week, before clearing conditions on Thursday and Friday. The rail will be out 2m for the entire circuit, with the action getting underway at 5:10pm AEDT.
Magic Millions Debut Tip: Vein Girl
A field of 10 juveniles will duke it out for the $250,000 in The Debut, and the Chris & Corey Munce-trained Vein Girl looks the one to beat. The Blue Point filly has two trial wins to her name leading into this assignment, with those coming on a Heavy 8 and Soft 7 respectively. In both of those efforts, she showed exceptional early speed to lead, and from barrier two, she gets the ideal draw to help kick off her career in style.

Best Bet at Gold Coast: Stellar Lady
The way Stellar Lady won first-up on the Sunshine Coast suggests the four-year-old mare is ready to go to another level this campaign. She was not pushed out fully, so the one-length margin may be a touch deceiving on paper. Boris Thornton will likely gain a similar run in transit from barrier six, and with a strong wet-track record (3: 2-1-0), Stellar Lady should prove too slick for her rivals in the conditions.

Next Best at Gold Coast: Arabian Summer
Arabian Summer will have her first start as a three-year-old when she returns from a seven-month spell. Already placed at Group and Listed level as a juvenile, the Too Darn Hot filly brings an element of class to the second leg of the quaddie. She is proven on wet ground and fresh from a spell, and with a trial win at this course and distance under her belt, Arabian Summer will likely be too hard to hold out.
