HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets, value picks and quaddie numbers for the nine-race card at Eagle Farm on Wednesday afternoon. While we are racing on a Good 4, the rail is out 10.5m for the entire course, which could see the track favour those closest to the fence. The first field is set to face the starter at 12:01pm.
Eagle Farm Best Bet: Tears Of Love
Winning form is always good form, and one gelding who brings exactly that is the Matt Kropp-trained four-year-old, Tears Of Love. The son of Love Conquers All has won his last three starts at Toowoomba, Ipswich, and an absolutely super win at Doomben over 1660m on June 23rd. Madeleine Wishart did the steering last time and Kropp has elected to hand her the keys again which will see the apprentice take 3kg off the gelding’s back. In with 56kg after the claim and drawn towards the outside in barrier eight will see the in-form gelding cross over to lead and with very little speed in the race, he should be able to dictate and kick away again.

Next Best at Eagle Farm: Super Gorgeous
Brian Smith’s three-year-old gelding, Super Gorgeous, was an ultra-impressive winner at Ipswich last time out when winning by nearly two-lengths. The three-year-old gelding has only had two career starts for a win and a third, and while his last start was a month ago, he looks very well placed in this 1200m Class 1. On debut, the son of Zoustar was very fractious in and behind the barriers, but after jumping cleanly, finding the front and controlling the race, he very nearly won as a $16 chance, finishing third, just half a length off Princess Tenko and Pivotal Moon with a large gap of four lengths back to the fourth horse. Drawn barrier 12, Andrew Spinks will take this speedy gelding toward the lead again and be in the right part of the track heading into the straight.
Race 9 – Super Gorgeous (#4)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1373856_09]
Eagle Farm Value Bet: Fiorente Star
Fiorente Star is probably getting very close to the banned list for any punter if he isn’t already, but we are going to give the 14-start maiden one more chance on Wednesday. After finishing in the placings at his last two starts, including a runner-up performance at this track just last Wednesday, the four-year-old gelding should be rock-hard fit to finally breakthrough. The name suggests he is by Melbourne Cup-winning sire, Fiorente, so the 1800m will be a distance he is bred to handle, and with plenty of racing under his belt in the past three months, he will be very strong late. Drawn ideally in barrier two for Robbie Fradd, Barry Lockwood’s gelding should get the perfect run just off the leader and be chiming in at the right time. He drops back from Class 1 company to his own maiden grade, which will see him right in the finish again.
