| Where | Caulfield Racecourse – Gate 2, Station St, Caulfield East VIC 3145 |
| When | Saturday, July 26, 2025 |
| First Race | 12:10pm AEST |
It’s the Caulfield Season Finale this Saturday afternoon, with the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) topping a nine-card card on July 26. With the track already a Soft 5 and further rain forecast in Melbourne this week, it is likely the meeting will be held on a track no better than a Soft 6. The rail comes out 4m for the entire circuit, with the first race jumping at 12:10pm AEST.
Bletchingly Stakes tip: New York Lustre
New York Lustre returned in fine form in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) when accounting for all but the in-form In Flight. The Enver Jusufovic-trained mare returns to the same track, and with the step up to 1200m ideal second-up into her preparation, she is poised to go one better under Jamie Melham. The daughter of Manhattan Rain looks likely to take up a stalking position from barrier seven, and if she produces a repeat effort, New York Lustre can get the better of her more fancied rivals.

Best Bet at Caulfield: Pop Award
If Pop Award returns anywhere close to the horse she was in the summer, she should be accounting for this BM78 field with relative ease. The Shamus Award mare boasts a win over the classy Zloties at Sandown before heading to the paddock, and considering she was a first-up winner last prep, she clearly comes to hand pretty quickly. Matthew Cartwright will look to find cover from barrier six, and provided the pair do not get caught wide the trip, Pop Award should be kicking off her campaign in winning fashion.

Next Best at Caulfield: Cherish Me
Cherish Me has not been seen since finishing 4.8 lengths off Devil Night in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), but it’s her debut run prior that stands out. The Brazen Beau filly accounted for her rivals at Geelong by two lengths when producing an incredible finish on January 4, and as long as she can handle the sting out of the track, it is hard to see how she gets rolled on the weekend. If Craig Williams can find a bum to follow, Cherish Me will prove too hard to hold out in the opener.
