Winx and Catchy inspires twitter love in big week of racing
WHAT a week of racing.
Not only did Winx extend her winning streak to 15 straight, but superstar two-year-old Catchy kept its unbeaten run going in spectacular fashion in the Blue Diamond Stakes.
There were thrills and even some hilarious spills over the weekend of action, so let’s take a look at the big moments and see what the Twitterverse had to say.
Winx not only makes it 15 straight, but the mare got its own emoji
Is there anything Winx can’t do? Not only did the superstar make it 15 consecutive wins on the trot, the wondermare broke another barrier in the Sport of Kings – Winx got its own emjoi.
Winx has her own emoji, how cool is that?! #gowinx

The great mare won the Chipping Norton Stakes in consummate ease on Saturday and the Twitterverse absolutely lapped it up.

The superstar was as cool as a cucumber in the lead up however.

Even an account purporting to be Winx tweeted about its success, but at this stage are we actually going to doubt anything is beyond the great one?

Catchy storms home to claim the Blue Diamond in dramatic fashion
The Blue Diamond Stakes was somewhat overshadowed by Winx, but the race itself was an absolute belter.
Fair effort from where she was on the turn @eyesgk very Catchy performance #BlueDiamondStakes

Unbeaten filly Catchy overcame a wide barrier and an ordinary run in transit to storm down the outside and claim the prize in the shadows of the post.
It was a performance worthy of praise.

Catchy is now set for a tilt at the Golden Slipper in Sydney, and one punter is extremely confident it can back up the impressive Blue Diamond win.
TAB big bet- $11,000 on Catchy at $11 in Golden Slipper
— brad davidson (@braddavo) February 27, 2017
Catchy did not draw unanimious praise across the board however.
R7: Catchy 28th best last 800 built to the 6th best 200 & win just an average Blue Diamond. $11 for the Golden Slipper. Thats missing a zero

Sheidel claims the Oakleigh Plate in a blanket finish
The last group one race of a stacked Saturday of racing was the Oakliegh Plate, and the Magic Man Joao Moreira steered Western Australian raider Sheidel to success, and the Sandgropers lapped it up.

Away from the track a father and son combo enjoyed the fruits of Sheidel’s labour.
Celebrations going on in my household thanks to Sheidel and Dixie Blossoms… ?? pic.twitter.com/68PrNduYbq

The general consensus was that the Magic Man gave his steed edge in this race, and the statistics backed up these claims in the aftermath of the race.
R8: Outstanding front running rides from J Moreira & B Allen saw them quinella despite Sheidel 50th best last 200 & Fatinah 65th #sectionals

Two drivers end up in the same sulky in a race at Charlton
Normally the social media recap is reserved for the thoroughbreds, but this was too good to overlook.
Aharness race at Charlton was the venue. In the closing stages of the race two competitors locked coming around the bend and ended up in the same sulky.
Sometimes it is just better to present the video without comment.
We are not sure what is more hilarious, the fact that they ended up side-by-side or the race caller’s awkward reaction to it.
Either way, it is comedy gold.
