Wyong Magic Millions betting preview
Wyong hosts its Magic Millions Raceday this Wednesday, headlined by the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic. Just the six races make up the metropolitan-class card, which will be run on a Soft 5 track. The rail will be in the true position for the entire circumference of the course. Race 1 jumps at 2:20pm local time, with the feature at 4:40pm.
The Snowdens can take out the two features on Wednesday, with Astrologer in the 2YO Classic and Barbaric in the Magic Millions Wyong Stakes. The son of I Am Invincible went back-to-back in the autumn, winning his maiden in Sydney before taking out the Group 3 Black Opal. He hasn’t been back to the races since, but he did win a trial very impressively at Randwick a week ago under James McDonald, who partners him here. There will be speed galore in this race, set by the likes of Spaceboy, Yao Dash and Count de Rupee, so he should get a lovely run into it from barrier three.

The cream often rises to the top in these races, so we expect to see Foxborough back in the winner’s stall for the first time since her MTC Guineas win at Wagga back in May on a Heavy 9 track over a mile. Drawn out wide, she’ll get back under Keegan Latham and be aided by a strong tempo. Her wet-track form is good, with one win and seven placings from 12 starts on rain-affected surfaces, and she has only missed the place once over a mile, so she gets some big ticks next to her name. The mare by Dissident has had three weeks between runs and a trial as well, so she should be hard fit and ready to go here.

Dance Too Hard has been racing well of late, finishing in the placings in three of her last four starts. Drawn the rails under Jason Collett, she’ll be able to hold a position in what looks a slowly run mile. Her only win to date came on a soft track, so we expect the conditions to favour her. Early in her career, she was stretched out to a mile and a quarter, which looked a bit too far for her, but now Marc Conners has elected to keep her at the more suitable mile trip. She can run well here at an each-way price.
