What Wyong Races
Where Wyong Race Club & Function Centre – 71-73 Howarth St, Wyong NSW 2259
When Wednesday, March 19, 2025
First Race 1:45pm AEDT

Wyong Race Club is the destination for NSW racing on Wednesday afternoon, with a competitive eight-part program lined up. The rail moves out +3m after racing in the true position last Wednesday, and with no significant rainfall forecast to hit the course proper in the lead-up, punters can expect a Good 4 surface for race day. All the action is scheduled to get underway at 1:45pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Wyong: Seven’s

Seven’s was five weeks between runs second-up at Warwick Farm on March 5 and appeared to peak after a tough on-speed effort. The son of Bated Breath attempted to make every post a winner and was only overhauled in the final 100m to finish within a length of Bacio Del Mist. James McDonald takes the reins for the first time and will go in search of cover from barrier seven, and provided the breaks fall his way, expect Seven’s to crack his Australian maiden in stylishly against this lot.

Best Bet

Race 5 – Seven’s Silks#5 Seven’s (7)

4yo Gelding | T: Annabel Neasham & Rob Archibald | J: James McDonald (55kg)

Next Best at Wyong: Congressman

Congressman got too far back on his debut at Warwick Farm on February 19, unable to reel in King Of Pop, who was off-and-gone with the prize. It took the Chris Waller-trained colt a long time to wind up when turning for home, so expect the son of Snitzel to appreciate stepping out to the 1350m second-up in the preparation. James McDonald should lob into the ideal stalking position from gate four, so watch for this guy to be barrelling over the top to claim victory at a good price with horse racing bookmakers.

Next Best

Race 1 – Congressman Silks#4 Congressman (4)

2yo Colt | T: Chris Waller | J: James McDonald (56.5kg)

Best Value at Wyong: Sigiriya Rock

Sigiriya Rock returns to NSW after an impressive debut campaign in Victoria, failing to miss the minor money in all of five of his starts. That includes an eye-catching maiden romp at Caulfield on December 12, leading every step of the way on the Heath circuit to score by 2.8 lengths. His barrier trial at Rosehill on March 6 suggests he’s returning in supreme order, and with stall five allowing Jason Collett to sit within striking distance turning for home, expect Sigiriya Rock to be flashing late at an each-way price with Dabble.

Best Value

Race 7 – Sigiriya Rock Silks#9 Sigiriya Rock (5)

3yo Gelding | T: Chris Waller | J: Jason Collett (54.5kg)
