Menari dazzles in the Run To The Rose at Rosehill

On a brilliant day of racing at Rosehill one of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly Menari’s performance in the Group Two Run To The Rose.

Presented at the optimal time by jockey Josh Parr, Menari sped away from its rivals to record a sensational win among a quality field of runners.

The jockey was understandably-happy following the win.

The showing was so dominant at Rosehill many believe the Golden Rose will be a formality.

Menari firmed from $9 pre-race into outright favourite ($2.40 at Ladbrokes.com.au) for the Group One Golden Rose on September 23.

The horse has absolutely excelled at the sprint distance, but many are questioning whether the star can cover the additional trip on Golden Rose day.

If punters are questioning the horse’s ability, the trainer certainly is not.

Gerald Ryan had some strong words for one rival in particular on Melbourne radio.

Time will tell, but Menari could be the next big-thing of Australian racing.

Bonneval batters its rivals in the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes

If Menari’s run at Rosehill caught the punters eye in the Sydney market then kiwi raider Benneval’s display at Moonee Valley in the feature of the day surely piqued the interest of future bettors.

In a race that had its fair share of drama, Bonneval swept wide into the straight in theGroup Two Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes to power over the top of the field and record a half a length win.

Bonneval’s main target looked to be the Caulfield Cup, but after Saturday’s success co-trainer Andrew Forsman is refusing to rule out a tilt at this year’s Cox Plate.

The horse is the $9 second favourite for the Caulfield Cup and the $51 outsider at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Cox Plate.

The impartial observers believe it could make this year’s race all the more interesting of the Kiwi takes on Winx.

One thing is for certain however, the horse made a number of punters happy on Saturday, including one investor who found a great dividend on a weekend multi.

If only we had the foresight to put that bet on, we’d all be a lot happier as the working week kicks off.
