Zac Lloyd along with Ciaron Maher & David Eustace have combined with Tiz Invincible (+220) to take out the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday afternoon.

It was built as a race-in-three as Tiz Invincible, Kimochi (+300) and Tropical Squall (+400) swallowed a huge percentage of the market with online bookmakers and the race unfolded as such.

Jockey Adam Hyeronimus took Tropical Squall straight to the front from barrier 12 to ensure a genuine tempo throughout the 1400m, while Zac Lloyd forced Jason Collett and Kimochi out on a three-wide line prior to the home turn.

It proved to be the winning factor as Kimochi loomed to the front alongside Tropical Squall, before being swallowed up by Tiz Invincible, saving all the ground and going on to score by 1.3 lengths.

It was an impressive win by the daughter of I Am Invincible and it’s far to say the quinella pair will be meeting again in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) on September 30.

Co-trainer Ciaron Maher was on track to assess his filly’s outstanding performance and confirmed the three-year-old will be seeking Group 1 glory at her next start.

“You can see she’s still coming in the coat,” said Maher.

“She’s running better every time we go to the races. She’s relaxing a little bit better, Zac’s (Lloyd) beautiful ride, she had an even more explosive turn of foot today. She couldn’t be any more exciting really.

““It was a bit of a test today, up to the 1400 metres to get her to relax.

“She had been a little bit keen in the middle stages, but she relaxed beautifully and I’m really looking forward to the Flight (Stakes) now.”

Jockey Zac Lloyd admitted his day hadn’t gone to plan, but was extremely happy with the victory, and has hopes on potentially riding his first Group 1 winner in two weeks-time.

“It’s been a very character building day,” said Lloyd.

“But I’m very happy to have these opportunities with these very good horses. She was ultra impressive today, she’s done that easily.

“I felt she conducted herself super and that gives me a lot of confidence stepping up to the flight stakes now.

“Obviously it’s up to the team, if she wants to go to the mile that gives me a lot of confidence that she’ll relax.”

Tiz Invincible is now a clear (+180) favourite for the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) with Kimochi on the second line of betting at (+400).
