Tamworth tips & full form for Thursday, January 25
TAMWORTH racing is on this Thursday as the country music capital hosts a strong eight race card on Australia Day Eve.

Redraw brings in impressive form and looks hard to hold out here. Last time out at Glen Innes the horse missed out by just half a length to Press Reset, which we have a high opinion of. From the inside draw we think Redraw can lead and win.

In a wide-open affair we think Lilac Wine is as good a chance as any. The horse placed last time out – the only horse bringing in that kind of form – and we expect it to go forward and attempt to pinch it from the front.

Lady Sebago comes into this race fresh, and despite a poor first-up record we think it will come back as a much more mature runner. In race with not a lot of early speed we believe the horse can get to the front and pinch it from that position.

Race 4 – Class 2 Handicap (1000m)

Golden Legacy is a last-start winner that comes into this race as a huge chance to go back-to-back. The strength of the four and a half length maiden victory at Gunnedah was enough to suggest to us it can go on with the job here.

Race 5 – Benchmark 55 (1400m)

Ocean Express comes into a weak BM55 race hoping to go on with the job following a powerful maiden win at Taree on January 4. The horse won by over two lengths on that day and in this field it should be looking to make it two from two.

La Biere Choisie failed last-time out at Port Macquarie as a short-priced favourite, but we believe it has learned from that experience and will present as a better animal.

Race 7 – Class 1 Handicap (1200m)

Waimea Bay jumps from a great gate and brings quality first-up form into the penultimate event after placing at its one attempt. The horse finished off last campaign in style, winning at Tuncurry, and it has trialed coming into this event. Looms as the winner.

Race 8 – Benchmark 70 (1200m)

Leica’s Lass has not missed the first four across four runs this preparation, which has also yielded a win and a second placing. In a huge field to round out the day we think it is fit and in-form, which will count for a lot.
