Now a four-year-old, connections sold some shares in the horse last May after, he was gelded prior to his first-up run for that campaign.
With just two wins in his career and five runner-up performances, connections have decided to attempt to cut some of their losses, and offer him for auction in the 2022 February (Early) Online Sale which opened on Friday, February 4, and will end on Wednesday, February 9.

Strategy has been offered as Lot 59, and is currently at $5,000 as of Saturday morning, four days before the auction will finish.
The connections of the horse stated that he has “failed to go on with it this campaign”, but they believe that there is “potential” for him to be successful under the right circumstances.

“Strategy is a metro-winning son of I Am Invincible who was a $1.7m Gold Coast Magic Millions purchase as a yearling,” the gelding’s description read.

“He unfortunately has failed to go on with it this campaign after performing well last preparation, however, we believe that the potential is there for him to be rejuvenated at the right stable.

“He has no vices, is sound, and easy to train, and he would be the perfect horse for an ownership group wishing to have some fun at the provincials and country meetings.

“He is currently in the paddock, but with his last start having been on the 21st of January, he won’t take long to come to hand again.”
