The Sky High Stakes is a Group 3 race run over 2000m at Rosehill by the Australian Turf Club during the autumn carnival.
First held in 1989, the Sky High Stakes is named after champion racehorse Sky High, who won 16 Group 1 races in the early 1960s.
Originally a 1900m quality handicap, the Sky High Stakes shifted to 2000m in 2015 and adopted set weights with penalties in 2016.
The Sky High Stakes became Listed in 1992 and was upgraded to Group 3 in 2014. The race serves as a lead-up for stayers targeting the Group 1 Tancred Stakes (2400m) and Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m).
The 2024 Sky High Stakes, worth $350,000, was won by Lindermann, defeating Kalapour and Stockman.
Hartnell (2015) remains the standout winner, going on to claim the Tancred Stakes.
Notable past winners include County Tyrone, Julienas, Tavago, Master Of Wine, Toffee Tongue, and Protagonist.

- James McDonald and Chris Waller combined with Lindermann ($1.95) who trounced his rivals in the 2024 Group 3 Sky High Stakes (2000m). It was an easy watch for favourite backers with James McDonald sliding across to sit on the back of the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Just Fine ($5.50) throughout the journey, before coasting up the inside to put them away stylishly in the end as Lindermann cruised away from his rivals by 4.2 lengths on the wire.
- The William Haggas stable have stamped their mark on the 2023 autumn as they have in the past with Protagonist winning first-up in the Sky High Stakes at Rosehill. The European raider was given a terrific steer as James McDonald brought up a treble in the seventh race on the Rosehill program. e was able to find a prominent position in the run as Knights Order cut across from the wide draw, leading throughout the 2000m contest. That allowed a genuine staying race to ensue, playing favourably to the eventual winner.
- Stockman made sure there was plenty of Kiwi flavour at Rosehill when winning the 2022 Group 3 Sky High Stakes (2000m). The widest on the track turning for home, Stockman was able to rally and wear down his rivals and kicked on for a half-length victory over Mount Popa, with a further 2.25 lengths back to Great House in third, with the Heavy 9 track conditions suiting the wet track specialist down to the ground.
