When Sunday, September 17, 2023
First Race 1:31pm AEST

Action heads to the Seymour Racing Club on Sunday afternoon with an eight-race program scheduled. With perfect conditions forecast, the track should be a Good 4 come race day and despite the rail coming out 7m, every runner will get their chance if good enough. Racing from Seymour commences at 1:31pm AEST. Here are our free Seymour tips, best bets and quaddie numbers for Sunday, September 17.

Best Bet at Seymour: Corner Off

The Archie Alexander-trained Corner Off is set to resume off a four-month spell and we expect she will return a winner. The four-year-old mare, despite winning once in six starts, hardly knows how to run a poor race and strikes quite the winnable BM64 upon return. With a win and two minors to her name when fresh, we know she hits the ground running. In a race where she should lob in the one-one position, Corner Off should prove too strong for her rivals late on in the piece.

Best Bet

Race 7 – Silks#11 Corner Off (6)

Next Best Bet at Seymour: La Petite Angele

Cliff Brown sends La Petite Angele back to Sale following a narrow defeat at Sandown on August 30. The three-year-old filly broke her maiden when getting the better of the smart Scorsese over the Sale 1210m on August 2 and returns to that track and trip on Sunday. She gets in perfectly at the weights with 4kg claiming apprentice Luke Cartwright on board. With plenty of speed drawn to her outside, we expect to see La Petite Angele land in a beautiful spot upon settling. With a well-timed sprint and a light weight on her back, La Petite Angele will take a power of beating in the last. Snap up the $2.70 on offer at betting sites, while it lasts.

Next Best

Race 8 – Silks#12 La Petite Angele (9)

3yo Filly | T: Cliff Brown | J: Luke Cartwright (a4) (57.5kg)

Best Value at Seymour: You Oughta Know

You Oughta Know was hitting the line nicely on debut over 1300m at Seymour on September 1 and a return to the track, stepping up to the 1600m looks ideal. Having given his rivals too much of a start on the home turn, the Lonhro filly made steady ground to suggest she was worth following. Zac Spain will give her the perfect run in transit and will naturally improve from that debut effort. You Oughta Know should be breaking maiden ranks at start two.

Best Value

Race 1 – Silks#12 You Oughta Know (5)

3yo Filly | T: Lloyd Kennewell & Lucy Yeomans | J: Zac Spain (55kg)
