The Western Australian Turf Club will host another meeting out of Ascot Racecourse this Saturday, with the highlight race being the Listed $125,000 Supremacy Stakes. The track is currently rated a Soft 5; however, with warm weather and no rain on the forecast for Friday and Saturday, we expect to be racing on a Good track for most of the nine-race program. The rail will be in the +5m position for the entire circuit, with racing set to kick off at 12:19pm AWST.
Supremacy Stakes Tip: Live To Tell
The feature race of the day will be the Listed Supremacy Stakes over 1000m for the two-year-olds, where only three of the runners have broken their maiden and three will be facing the starter for the first time. Our top tip in the feature is the Simon Miller-trained Live To Tell who has only had the single race start for her career, finishing second behind the very smart Brave Halo. This daughter of Territories got within a head of Brave Halo when they were both on debut, which is still the only runner to get within two lengths off the star Western Australian two-year-old who has since gone onto finish fourth in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes a few weeks back. The form lines coming out of her only race start is very strong, with the third placegetter, A Lot Of Good Men, winning two of his last three starts at Ascot as a short-priced favourite. With the benefit of a nine-length trial win over 1000m at Belmont, this girl should be primed and ready to go on Saturday and with even luck she should be winning.

Best Bet at Ascot: Top Of The Pops
Our best bet of the day will be the Daniel Morton-trained Top Of The Pops who will be returning to the race track after a five-month spell, with the benefit of two nice trials over 1000m. This three-year-old gelding returned for one run his last campaign, where he finished fourth in the 3YO Classic, finishing behind the likes of Snowdome, Just Go and Rumour Says who all went onto race in the Listed Belgravia Stakes and Listed Placid Ark Stakes and were very good in those events. This son of Spirit Of Boom is set to race in one of the easiest races of his career on Saturday, so the $2.40 on offer with online bookmakers looks to be a great price for a gelding who has won four of his five career starts to date. Chris Parnham has ridden this guy three times in his career, recording victories at every start and he will be legged back aboard again on Saturday. If Parnham can get Top Of The Pops to the outside of the field on the home turn, he should be too good for this lot.

Next Best Bet at Ascot: Baby Paris
Another of our better bets at Ascot on Saturday will be the star three-year-old filly from the Colin Webster yard Baby Paris, who is returning from a four-month spell after a big spring campaign which saw her win the Placid Ark Prelude and run second in the Listed Jungle Mist Classic against the older horses. This daughter of Playing God has only tasted defeat twice in her six career starts, with one of those defeats coming on debut in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate behind Amelia’s Jewel and the other being that Jungle Mist runner-up finish to end her spring campaign last time in. This filly has been given one public trial on March 13 over 400m, which she won easily without working too much work. Peter Knuckey has been on board this girl for five of her six starts and he will re-connect with her once again on Saturday. From barrier three, Knuckey can either push forward and settle close to the leaders or settle midfield behind a fast tempo. Baby Paris is a star filly, and with only 52kg on her back in set weights and penalties race she will be extremely hard to beat.

Best Value at Ascot: Wee Ripper
The sixth race of the day will feature the Justine Erkelens-trained Wee Ripper who will be stepping back up to 1800m after runner a very nice race in behind Awesome Chatter over 1600m at Pinjarra on March 8 last start. This eight-year-old gelding has been good in defeat at his last two starts, with his runner-up finish behind Seberate over 1800m at Ascot on February 15 indicating that he can run out the 1800m. This son of Blackfriars will be having his fifth start for this preparation, and he is now at peak fitness going to 1800m for the second time, looking for his second win at the Ascot 1800m. Troy Turner has ridden this guy at his last two starts, and he will be back in the saddle on Saturday trying to go one better than his two rides.
