Royal Randwick will play host to 10 metropolitan races on Saturday afternoon, none of which hold any black type. HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst presents his best bets and quaddie numbers for the meeting, which is set to be run on a Heavy 10 track – again. The rail is in the true position for the entire course and the first race is scheduled to jump at 11am AEST.
Best Bet at Randwick – Andermatt
Although Andermatt had his colours lowered last start as a $1.60 favourite when beaten by Flying Crazy, who we have tipped in a Group 3 at Eagle Farm on Saturday, so we think that is still the right form for this Open Handicap. The James Cummings-trained four-year-old has to handle the rise in weight from 54.5kg to 58kg, but it is a fair drop in class from Listed level back to this, albeit against some handy gallopers. The son of Snitzel was dominant in his two starts prior, winning both by big margins on Heavy 10 tracks, so we expect him to bounce back to his best on Saturday in the wet conditions.

Next Best at Randwick – Feel The Rush
Feel The Rush may not win out of turn, but she has been racing well enough of late to suggest a win is near. The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained mare placed at Group 3 level four starts back, ran fourth at Group 2 level at her next start, and most recently went down a length to Shameless Miss, who she meets 2kg better on Saturday. The daughter of Proisir was beaten a length on that occasion, but she put 7.5 lengths on the third horse, proving that she is absolutely flying at the moment. That was on a Heavy 10 over 2400m, so the conditions will suit, as will the 3.5kg drop in weight. From barrier four, she is going to lead this field and will be the one they have to catch.

Best Value at Randwick – Dirty Merchant
We have been following Dirty Merchant since his third-placed effort at the Sydney two-year-old trials back in September. The aptly named son of Merchant Navy trialled four more times before making his race debut a fortnight ago at Newcastle in a 1200m 2YO Maiden where he had some market support at odds and ran a good third. The Annabel Neasham-trained colt now steps out to 1400m, which should suit him brilliantly, while Tom Sherry hops aboard for the first time from a suitable draw in barrier two. There has already been some money for this horse with online bookmakers, which only makes us like him more.
