Let’s be honest: since the beginning of the pandemic, Tabcorp have been struggling. Their retail and pub sectors were closed for a majority of 2020, and on Stakes Day their entire system shat the bed and left punters everywhere fuming. However, in the past 24 hours news has emerged that a potential takeover of Tabcorp is in the works. This deal is starting off with the lottery side of things (because who doesn’t love a bit of government protection?) but Ladbrokes’ parent company, Entain, have already confirmed their interest in TAB’s wagering and media assets. One thing is for sure: as long as we can have a punt, we don’t really care who is in charge. Even so, we are still quite interested to see how this plays out.

Well, didn’t Chris Waller’s Gold Coast stable celebrate the win of Shaquero in style? Apparently not! The legendary trainer has had two of his staff resign due to an altercation that occurred while celebrating their horse’s win in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic. Waller trains more winners than we have had hot dinners and his parties turn into absolute ragers! He has since had to come out and admit that there was a bit of biff at the shindig, but he assured all of his loyal owners to trust his team throughout the country. Three votes, C. Waller – he just knows how to win over a crowd after a genuine shitshow!
