How is it already the end of March and The Championships are only a week away from commencing?
The Grand Final of autumn racing is almost upon us, The Championships.
You know, the two-day carnival across consecutive Saturday’s where squillions worth of prizemoney is on the line across eight Group 1 races.
This year’s edition is stacked with arguably some of the best jockeys in the world.
It was announced during the week that star Brazilian and former Hong Kong-based hoop Joao Moreira will be joining the likes of Zac Purton at Randwick across the two days.
Throw in the local talent of James McDonald, Nash Rawiller etc. we may just be in store for some of the best racing we have seen in this country for some time.
It is understood Moreira will have the support of the Chris Waller stable and other leading trainers.
With horses like Anamoe, Nature Strip, Giga Kick, Mr Brightside, I’m Thunderstruck and Sharp ‘N’ Smart, this may just be the best edition of The Championships yet.
Moonee Valley Racing Club wins Twitter
There is no doubt, someone involved with the Moonee Valley Racing Club Twitter account has too much time on their hands.
However, they gave us some of the best content in regards to the Group 1 field for the William Reid Stakes on Friday night.
