Pakenham synthetic betting tips

What Pakenham Synthetic Races
Where Pakenham Racing Club – 420 Nar Nar Goon–Longwarry Rd, Tynong VIC 3813
When Monday, August 28, 2023
First Race 1pm AEST

The synthetic track at Pakenham will help kick off another week of racing in Victoria with eight-races scheduled on Monday afternoon. A perfect day is on the cards weather wise, so every runner should get their chance if good enough, with no bias expected. Action is set to commence at 1pm AEST.

Best Bet at Pakenham: Dublin Journal

Dublin Journal chased home the smart Insulation upon resumption at Sale on August 2 and considering he was beaten less than a length, he looks a great play as he heads to the synthetic. The five-year-old gelding was hitting the line strongly over the 1740m and despite stepping back to the 1600m, we expect he will be hard to beat. This is his easiest task in some time and if Jamie Mott can hold a spot midfield with cover, Dublin Journal has shown he has a nice turn of foot, and it should be more than good enough for this lot.

Best Bet

Race 7 – silks#2 Dublin Journal (6)

5yo Gelding | T: Ben, Will & JD Hayes | J: Jamie Mott (61.5kg)

$3.50 with PlayUp

Next Best at Pakenham: Arizona Activist

Ben, Will & JD Hayes is set to resume Arizona Activist on the synthetic having been placed at Stakes level at Flemington on April 29 before heading for a spell. In all three of his career starts he has chased home some smart types and have not been beaten far. This is without a doubt his easiest assignment thus far and with a couple of smart Flemington jump outs under his belt, we expect Arizona Activist will return a winner on Monday.

Next Best

Race 2 – silks#1 Arizona Activist (6)

3yo Colt | T: Ben, Will & JD Hayes | J: Michael Dee (58kg)

$3 with Boombet

Best Value at Pakenham: American Liaison

The Mathew Ellerton-trained American Liaison put in a stinker first-up, but clearly had excuses. His form last campaign has him right in a race like this, considering he chased home the likes of Bel Air and Russian Dancer. The four-year-old gelding comes back to the 1200m, a trip he has not missed the top three at in both of his runs at the distance. From barrier 13, look for Billy Egan to take up the running and as long as he does not have to work too hard too early, American Liaison can salute at a nice price.

Best Value

Race 8 – silks#9 American Liaison (13)

4yo Gelding | T: Mathew Ellerton | J: Billy Egan (60.5kg)

$14 with Bet365
