The Group 1 racing season in Adelaide is just a fortnight away with the Robert Sangster and Australasian Oaks fast approaching. All eyes will be on the two Group 3 events on Saturday afternoon with connections hoping for results that will leave them confident heading into the respective Group 1 races. The Morphettville track is rated a Good 4 for the crucial meeting and the rails out 10m from the 1200m to the winning post and out 7m the remainder.
R N Irwin Stakes: Race 8 #2 Kemalpasa @ $3.00

A third placed finish in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate and a runner up effort to the star Behemoth is strong enough form for Kemalpasa to be taking out the Group 3 R N Irwin Stakes. The Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained gelding was only beaten a head in the Oakleigh Plate when lugging 57kg in the high tempo race. He only goes up 1.5kg on that run, and with regular jockey Jake Toeroek hopping back on board, the pair look hard to go past in the feature event on the Morphettville card.
Auraria Stakes: Steinem @ $2.30

Ciaron Maher & David Eustace have a smart one on their hands, the Frankel filly, Steinem. Her win at Sandown sent tongues wagging when letting down from the back of the field and putting a massive gap on her rivals to remain undefeated. Regular jockey Jye McNeil makes the trip across the border for the ride on Steinem in the Auraria Stakes and despite barrier 20 (16 once the emergencies are withdrawn) she looks set to remain undefeated. Her get back and run on style should not hinder her winning chances, and will take a power of holding out despite the significant rise in class.
Redelva Stakes: #2 Minhaaj @ $6.00

There is no doubt that Instant Celebrity has the most upside of most of the field in the Redelva Stakes, but the 1100m could be a touch sharp for the Phillip Stokes-trained runner. The one to be with in the race looks to Minhaaj, fresh off her smart win at Caulfield on April 3. The Exceed And Excel filly’s second up form looks to be decent reading, with a win in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders this time last year and a 1.5 lengths defeat to September Run in the spring. Expect Blaike McDougall to settle Minhaaj just off the speed, and if Instant Celebrity is not 100% locked in, Minhaaj looks hard to beat.
Best Bet: Race 5 #4 Don’tdreamit’sover @ $3.00

Michael Hickmott and Jessica Eaton combine with the inform gelding, Don’tdreamit’sover. Coming off a tough win over the 1550m on March 20 on the Parks track, the stable opted to give him a four week spell in between runs. He was trapped three wide the trip without cover up on speed, and if he can come to this BM82 with that same effort he looks to be the one to beat.
