Morphettville betting tips – January 30, 2021
Racing is back at Morphettville for another nine-part card on Saturday afternoon. We’re set to be racing on a Good 4, with the rail out 8m for the entire circuit. The feature event is the Listed Durbridge Stakes, where superstar galloper Behemoth resumes en route to some of the big Group 1 events in the autumn. The first at Morphettville is set to jump at 1:11 ACDT.
Best Bet: Race 3 – Tibetan
Michael Hickmott and Jessica Eaton will be looking to go one better with Tibetan following a runner-up performance as an odds-on favourite at Murray Bridge on January 16. Without a doubt he just got far too far back in an awkward position and gave the winner too much of a head start, although he brought the margin back to just over a length in the end. From barrier five he should settle closer to the speed for this assignment, and judging by the fact he took plenty of ground of the eventual winner at Murray Bridge, he should be too speedy in the concluding stages for this lot.

Next Best: Race 5 – Insaaf
On the quick nine-day backup from breaking her maiden at Kilmore, the Mick Price-trained Insaaf comes to Morphettville looking to build on her recent form. From barrier two she maps to sit behind the leaders and get a similar run as she did at Kilmore on January 21. If she is afforded that sort of economical run, she should have too much class on her side for this small BM62. The $2.80 on offer looks to be good value for Insaaf, as she has already lined up in black-type races and there looks to be a similar plan this time in.

Best Value: Race 7 – Picargo
Ryan Balfour and Dom Tourneur combine yet again with Picargo, who was beaten two lengths by Taken Off in a BM68 at Gawler on January 2. The two meet again here, but this time Picargo has a 4kg advantage over his rival. Add in the fact Picargo has drawn barrier one and looks to be on the heels of the leaders throughout, and the stars are aligning for him to bring up his second win of this campaign to go with three runner-up performances. He is always there or thereabouts and this should be no different.
