Jason Collett’s horror run continues after Canterbury fall
Group 1 winning jockey Jason Collett was taken to hospital for scans following a nasty fall in the third race at Canterbury on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old was mounting a charge at the top of the straight in the Darley Handicap (1250m) when he got into trouble and fell off $18 shot Magnatear.
Medical staff assessed Collett on-course and many breathed a sigh of relief when the popular hoop was walking minutes later.
Racing NSW then announced Collett had been taken to hospital for precautionary scans on his shoulder and neck.

It was the latest in a horror run for Collett, after he broke his foot in trackwork in February, when his mount made contact with the wall on the poly track ramp at Warwick Farm.
Collett only returned from that injury on April 6 when he partnered Major Murphy to a fourth at Wyong.
Lalaguna, for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, went on to win the race at Canterbury on Wednesday, with the $8.50 shot holding off Joyrider ($17) and Prefer The Wink ($4.40).
Collett did not ride his remaining mounts in the seven race meeting at Canterbury.
