Hobart form & betting tips for Friday, February 9

IT is Group 3 Bow Mistress (1200m) night in Tasmania on Friday and we’re pumped for what’s to come.

Hobart is hosting an exciting eight race card and we have the tips sorted for the twilight meeting.

Let’s take a look at which runners we’re picking.

Race 1 – Maiden (1100m)

Treeconi has placed twice in four career runs and we think it breaks through on Friday. The horse still managed to finish second despite getting no favours in the race and we believe it can deliver at the fifth start.

Race 1 tip: Treeconi to win at Neds

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1400m)

Berbent should jump out well from the inside draw and win this one from the front. In its last run at Hobart the horse delivered a strong placing performance and were backing it in for a big run here.

Race 2 tip: Berbent to win at William Hill

Race 3 – Benchmark 82 (1600m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181292_03]

Beaufort Lad placed at BM82 level last time out and while we think it’ll need to step it up here, we think it’s a huge chance to get the job done. The horse has a great record of four wins and four placings from ten outings an we’re thinking it can deliver here.

Race 3 tip: Beaufort Lad to win at Sportsbet

Race 4 – Carbine Club Plate (1100m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181292_04]

Geegee Trendsetter resumes after a three month break, and it has a win and a second from two attempts first-up. The horse blitzed them in its trial on January 30 and we think the Wordsmith filly will go forward and win from the front.

Race 4 tip: Geegee Trendsetter to win at William Hill

Race 5 – Benchmark 72 (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181292_05]

The Captain has an unbelievable record and we think it is poised to continue the good run. The horse has won three races and placed second a further trio of runs over six starts, and the five-year-old was only a head away from making it four wins in that span. Back it in.

Race 5 tip: The Captain to win at Neds

Race 6 – Tasmanian Derby (2200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181292_06]

Civil Disobedience should be winning this listed race. The star of the future has been racing in metropolitan Melbourne and mixing it with the best, so this shouldn’t be too much of a problem for the Weir runner.

Race 6 tip: Civil Disobedience to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Bow Mistress (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181292_07]

We’ve been huge on Life On The Wire since it journeyed to Victoria and took all before it. We think the horse returns to its homestate to win the feature event of the evening with ease to make it five on the trot.

Life On The Wire a class above this lot.

Race 7 tip: Life On The Wire to win ($1.75 at Crownbet)

Race 8 – Class 1 Handicap (1200m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1181292_08]

Geegees Cash Cow just won its maiden in stylish fashion and we think it’s well suited to go back-to-back in the final event. The horse had only missed the placings once across three career runs prior to the win, and we feel the three-year-old has progressive qualities.

Race 8 tip: Geegees Cash Cow to win at Crownbet
