Happy Valley is the destination for Hong Kong racing on Wednesday evening, with a bumper nine-part program commencing at 6:40pm local time. Participants will be racing on the B course, and although some rainfall is forecast for the back half of the meeting, it should have no effect on the Good 4 track rating. Hong Lok Golf has been sensational this season, producing five wins and another minor placing across his six starts. The son of Grunt particularly impressed in his latest win at Sha Tin on May 4, grinding his way to the line in a competitive Class 2 contest. He has shown good tactical speed every time he’s stepped out this preparation, and with Harry Bentley set to slot into the one-one from gate four, there is no reason Hong Lok Golf won’t be adding a sixth win to his resume.

Next Best at Happy Valley: Know At Heart
Know At Heart savaged the line at this course and distance on May 14, leaving an impression the Sweynesse gelding is nearing a maiden Hong Kong success. He was suited stepping back into Class 4 company on that occasion, and although he was forced to lug 60kg, the Chris So-trained four-year-old didn’t appear hampered as the sprint went on. Karis Teetan can press forward from barrier three, and provided Know At Heart can show a similar turn of speed this time, he should be finishing best.

Best Value at Happy Valley: Forerunner
Forerunner has gone off the boil deep into this preparation, with the son of Almanzor beaten by a combined 18.6 lengths in his last three outings. He has been tested against some improving types, however, and looks well positioned in his first look at Happy Valley. He was an eye-catching winner prior to his trio of failures, and provided Forerunner can replicate that peak performance, he must be considered a major player at the each-way price with horse racing bookmakers.
