Best Bet
Race 6 – Rothenburg @ $5.50 Sportsbet

We are going with the last-start Highway winner at Rosehill to make it two in a row in Wednesday’s Grafton Guineas. James McDonald bided his time on a heavy track, switched back to the fence and bolted in by nearly two lengths. In the run before that, Rothenburg ran fourth at Doomben behind Stuttering, which crossed the line third on Saturday in the closest of three-way photo finishes in a 3YO Quality. One start over the mile for a fourth at Eagle Farm bodes well for this and he should have every chance from barrier eight under Jason Collett to see out a strong 1600m. A win on soft going is a big tick, so we are very keen to play at $5.50.

Next Best
Race 8 – Chilly Cha Cha @ $3.80 Sportsbet

We are tipping that Jason Collett is in for a nice afternoon, with a nice ride in the final race on Kris Lees’ Chilly Cha Cha. Last start, the five-year-old mare got a fair way back and worked home very strongly behind Fulmina at Rosehill over 1800m, clocking the best 800-400m sectional of the race and giving every indication that the rise in trip to 2200m will suit her down to the ground. By Mastercraftsman out of a High Chaparral mare screams out that she will be favoured by the journey. Collett should let her get in a good rhythm from barrier two, produce her in the straight and go on with it.

Best Bet
Race 3 – Runamuk @ $9.50 Sportsbet

Stephen Lee’s Runamuk has been racing fairly this campaign without winning. Connections have opted to space her runs, which looks to have improved her form. Last start, the four-year-old mare ran fourth at this track and trip, beaten by only a very small margin at the death. She will no doubt be fitter for the run and is drawn perfectly in barrier five. Jockey Jon Grisedale has ridden the mare before and will be hoping to get her home this time. The $9.50 is a fair price and well worth an each-way bet.
