First Race 1pm AEST

Father’s Day racing heads to Geelong on Sunday afternoon, with eight races set down for decision. A perfect spring day is on the cards, with a top of 21 degrees forecast, and the track is expected to be a Good 4 throughout the day. The rail returns to the true position, with racing commencing at 1pm AEST.

Best Bet at Geelong – Miso

The Daniel Bowman-trained Miso has not been seen since a poor run at Sandown six months ago, but his form prior suggests he is more than capable of saluting in BM70 company. The son of Fighting Sun has a racing pattern that is hard to knock, as he gets out of the barrier cleanly and holds a spot in the first four upon settling. From barrier four, Ethan Brown will look to take up the running, and with two wins from two first-up runs already to his name, Miso should prove too hard to gun down.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Silk #3 Miso (4)

5yo Gelding | T: Daniel Bowman | J: Ethan Brown (61kg)

Next Best at Geelong – All Black

All Black was a dominant 1400m maiden winner at Cranbourne, and the step up to 1500m looks ideal. The four-year-old gelding is rock-hard fit with four runs under his belt, and if his win at Cranbourne is anything to go by, BM64 grade should prove to be no issue. From barrier four under Damian Lane, the son of Snitzel should gain a perfect run in transit throughout. He showed a sharp turn of foot in his maiden win, and a similar effort should bring the same result this weekend.

Next Best

Race 4 – Silk #4 All Black (4)

4yo Gelding | T: Mick Price and Michael Kent (Jnr) | J: Damian Lane (58.5kg)

$2.40 with PendleburyBet

Best Value at Geelong – Pariah Pearl

Pariah Pearl was the best of the beaten brigade behind Apulia at Cranbourne on August 20. The three-year-old filly wasn’t beaten far at the Geelong 1200m first-up in a strong form race, and the step up to 1700m looks to be ideal at this point in her career. Daniel Moor will look to take up the running from barrier seven, and considering she should gain an uncontested lead, Pariah Pearl can run a cheeky race third-up as she looks to break her maiden.

Best Value

Race 3 – Silk #10 Pariah Pearl (7)

3yo Filly | T: Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young | J: Daniel Moor (56kg)

$8 with Neds
