Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1700m)

Constructor finished runner-up in its second-ever race start and we think it’s ready to go one better. The horse defied massive odds that day, and we suspect it will not be running around at similar odds this Friday.

Race 1 tip: Constructor to win at Ladbrokes

Race 2 – Benchmark 60 (2100m)

Jagarna has won at the track and distance prior to Friday and based on recent runs it will be in for a quality return to the Gawler track. The horse may have only won once from 24 attempts, but it has placed nine times outside of that.

Back Jagarna in for a quality run.

Race 2 tip: Jagarna to win at Crownbet

Race 3 – Benchmark 60 (1700m)

Centre Divider drops back in class on Friday and in a race with not a lot of early speed it should find the front easily. From there we think the horse will not be run down.

Centre Divider is our best bet of the twilight meet at Gawler

Race 4 – Maiden (1100m)

In a huge maiden field For The Gallows is as good a chance as any. Resuming after a four month break, the five-year-old will need to improve sharply to win, but its debut run suggests the horse is capable of shaking the maiden tag – providing it runs up to potential.

Race 4 tip: For The Gallows to win at William Hill

Race 5 – Benchmark 56 (1100m)

Ogunde has never won at Gawler before but recent form suggests that could be about to change. In its last five starts the horse has won twice and placed another time, and it has previously won four times at this distance.

Ogunde is our next best bet of the meet at Gawler

Race 6 – Class 1 Handicap (1200m)

Sand Cat is racing in great form and will be hard to hold out here. The horse has not missed a first four since September, and has recorded a win and a placing across its last two starts. The horse will hunt for the lead early and has the ability to win it from the head of affairs.

Race 6 tip: Sand Cat to win at CrownBet

Race 7 – Benchmark 56 (1500m)

Forget Art Music’s last-start sixth at Morphettville where not a lot went right, the horse is a much better operator than that. Prior to that the son of Artie Schiller had won and placed twice across its last three starts.

Art Magic should end the card on a winning note for our readers.
