The Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes has attracted a field of 17 runners for the $1M event. The 1400m race is likely to deliver the key to the Group 1 JJ Atkins which will be run in two week’s time. Prince Of Boom is the $4.40 market elect after two devastating wins to kick-start his career, while Ranch Hand ($6.50) and Port Louis ($7.50) are the other two fancied runners. We should see speed from Converge, Miss Hipstar and Rhapsody Rose, while Prince Of Boom, Ranch Hand, Port Louis and Tiger Heart will be in the next bunch. Horsebetting.com.au brings you our best bets and $100 betting strategy for the Group 2 event.

David Payne’s Capitalist colt has had four career starts for two wins and a second and is looking to make it three straight wins. Gleneagles trialled well prior to his debut, the David Payne-trained colt ran second behind She’s All Class in the two-year-old Magic Millions Classic at Wyong, before running fifth over 1200m at Eagle Farm. Payne then elected to give him a spell and he has returned with two strong wins this time in at Hawkesbury in a maiden and then in the Clarendon Stakes, defeating Hoover Lucy who has since run very well at Listed level in the Carter Stakes. Drawn barrier four for Jason Collett, he is likely to be midfield or worse and be finishing home strongly over the top of a solid tempo.

Rob Heathcote saddles up Prince of Boom here who looks to make it three straight victories after winning by 4.8 lengths at the Sunshine Coast and then backed that up with a 2.5 length victory in the Group 2 Champagne Classic at Doomben on May 15. The son of Spirit of Boom has drawn the car park here in barrier 13, but Ben Thompson knows the horse well and will put him into the race early which could be a deciding factor come the business end of the race providing they don’t go too hard in front. His work on Tuesday morning was only fair, but he looks to have saved plenty up his sleeve for Saturday’s assignment.

You can’t knock winning form and one horse who comes into the Sires’ produce on Saturday with winning form is Bjorn Baker’s Overpass. The son of Vancouver has now won three straight races, all of which came in good fashion at Orange, Warwick Farm and Gosford respectively. While he does have to take the next step up to Group Two level and rise to the 1400m for the first time, this colt has done everything right and will look to make it four straight wins which is worthy of keeping a close eye on. From barrier three, Josh Parr will have his mount in a prominent position and if the gaps come he can make it four straight wins.
