What Bendigo Races
Where Bendigo Jockey Club – Heinz St, White Hills VIC 3550
When Sunday, February 5, 2022
First Race 1:20pm AEDT

HorseBetting’s Victoria racing tipster brings you his top picks and quaddie numbers for Sunday’s meeting at Bendigo Jockey Club, with odds from Australia’s best bookmakers. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is in the true position throughout, and the first of eight races will go at 1:20pm AEDT.

Bendigo Best Bet: Divaring

Following a close third-place finish first-up from a spell, we anticipate the Mitch Freedman-trained Divaring can break her maiden at start three. The four-year-old Sebring mare is bred to be a genuine stayer and considering she was doing her best work late over 2000m last time out, the step up to 2400m seems ideal. She gets back in the field upon settling, which is hardly a disadvantage when the rail is in the true at Bendigo. With Surreal Deal set to provide a genuine tempo throughout, the race will be set up perfectly for Divaring to finish over the top of her rivals. The $2.10 looks a nice price from Ladbrokes, as Divaring looks to be a clear best bet of the day.

Best BetRace 3 – Divaring (#7) $2.10 with Ladbrokes

Next Best at Bendigo: No Baby No

In the opening leg of the quaddie, we are more than happy to side with the Leon & Troy Corstens-trained No Baby No who brought up a deserved maiden win at Yarra Valley on December 28. The three-year-old Shooting to Win filly had four minor placings to begin her career prior to that win and having gained the run of the race, was quick to put her rivals away. She steps into BM58 company here where it looks to be a race in two between her and Yulong Phelps. Her market rival is first-up off a six-month spell and considering No Baby No is deep into a campaign, we expect her fitness edge to be the difference. We expect to see Damien Oliver take a sit off the speed with No Baby No and when asked for an effort, we anticipate she will go straight past her market rival and ultimately put the race to bed.

Next BestRace 6 – No Bay No (#8) $3.10 with Sportsbet

Bendigo Value Bet: Galactus

We will be hoping we can round out the card at Bendigo when the Simon Zahra-trained Galactus steps out over 1300m. The five-year-old son of Deep Field has found trouble in both of his last two starts and has deserved to finish closer in both of those. They were at metropolitan level, so the step back in grade on Sunday looks to be the recipe for success. From barrier seven, Luke Nolen will look to have him settled in the second half of the field and with a nice tow into the race, we anticipate Galactus will prove too hard to hold out. The $14 on offer from Sportsbet looks a steal, especially if he can avoid getting help up again.

Best ValueRace 8 – Galactus (#7) $14 with Sportsbet
