Racing returns to Ballarat Turf Club this Tuesday for the first time since November 20, and HorseBetting has you covered with best bets, quaddie numbers and top odds for the eight-part meeting. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail is in the true position throughout, and racing is set to start at 1:30pm AEDT.
Best Best at Ballarat – Kermy
In the opening leg of the quaddie, we will be hoping the Phillip Stokes-trained Kermy can bring up a second win from his last three starts. The four-year-old son of the Group 1-winning Kermadec was gunned down in the shadow of the winning post at Pakenham last time out by Fac, a runner who looks to have above-average ability. Kermy is a 69-rater going around in a BM64, so he will need to lug Sheridan Clarke and 59.5kg following her 3kg claim. He looks certain to gain an uncontested lead, which is a key reason why he looks one of the better bets of the day. The $3 on offer from Ladbrokes is more than a good price, as we expect Clarke to produce a peach of a front-running ride.
Best Value at Ballarat – Amalfi Amore
In the second leg of the quaddie, the Matt Cumani-trained Amalfi Amore will be looking to bring up consecutive wins for the first time in his short career. The three-year-old Sweet Orange gelding broke his maiden with an impressive front-running effort at Geelong on January 23. If Tahlia Hope opts for the same tactics on Tuesday, she and her mount will take some running down. Following Hope’s 1.5kg claim, Amalfi Amore will go round with 61kg on his back, which brings him in line with some of his market rivals. He looks to be the natural leader on paper, and if he can see out the 1500m, he should prove hard to catch.
