Horsebetting.com.au brings you all the best bets, top odds and quaddie numbers for the eight race card scheduled for Ballarat on Sunday afternoon. The track has come up a Soft 5 for the meeting and with the rail out 8m from the 600m to the winning post and then true the remainder, we are set for a competitive day of racing. The first race is set to jump at 1:40pm AEST.
Best Bet: #4 Miracle Day
Having shown plenty of early toe at Sandown when finishing third on March 24, we expect the Robert Hickmott-trained Miracle Day to be rock hard fit for this second up assignment. Having trialled up nicely in between runs at Cranbourne we anticipate that the son of Street Boss will appreciate stepping back from a city class maiden. Craig Williams sticks on board Miracle Day which is an added bonus, and not many jockeys in the country rate a front runner as well as what Willow does. From barrier nine expect him to take the gelding to the rails and be hard to catch in a barrier to box performance.

Next Best: #5 Keep On Bopping
In the final race on the Ballarat card, the Phillip Stokes-trained Keep On Bopping looks well placed to bring his second win from three starts, despite being on the third line of betting. The Shamus Award gelding jumped to the front at Sale on March 28 and felt the pinch late when fading to third, beaten by just over a length. Two runs back he bolted in under a hold at Yarra Valley when adopting similar tactics to his minor placed effort at Sale. From barrier four we expect Ben Allen to have no issue in getting him to the rails and the pair look hard to catch at a nice price to round out the day.
Race 8 – Keep On Bopping (#5)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1366326_08]
Best Value: Irish Playboy
The Henry Dwyer-trained Irish Playboy was the best of the beaten brigade at Moonee Valley on All Star Mile day in the Country Mile Series Final. On the back of a hot tempo in the race he made steady progression into a long margin over the final 400m and only went down by 1.5 lengths on the line. From barrier 15 on Sunday, jockey Michael Poy will have no alternative but to jag his mount to the rear of the field, but as this is the natural racing pattern for Irish Playboy we expect the son of Fastnet Rock to be savaging the line and proving hard to hold out in the third leg of the quaddie.
Race 7 – Irish Playboy (#2)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1366326_07]
