The 2021 Listed Anniversary Vase is the featured event on the nine-race card at Caulfield on Saturday afternoon and has a purse of $140,000 on offer. The speed in the race looks to come from the top weight, Olmedo, who drops back from the Group 1 Doncaster Handicap, while Groundswell and Still A Star should also be handy. HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets, top odds and $100 betting strategy for the 1400m race, which is set to jump at 4:30pm local time.

In an open edition of the Anniversary Vase, Missile Mantra has seen early support in the market and looks hard to go past as the mare strives to make it three wins in a row. One of her main market rivals, Groundswell, is expected to head over to Morphettville on Saturday after dual acceptance, which leaves Missile Mantra well placed. The Peter & Paul Snowden-trained mare will give her rivals a fair start after settling towards the rear of the field, but she should be powering over the top of her rivals late in the piece if her last-start win over the 1200m here on April 10 is any indicator.

The old-timer Reykjavik returned in decent enough fashion in the Bel Esprit Stakes last weekend and looks set to run a cheeky race at odds on the seven-day backup. The Lindsey Smith-trained stallion eats up any run at the 1400m, although he is yet to taste success at Caulfield in seven goes. He was only 1.5 lengths off the smart Sisstar last weekend, and if he runs up to that effort here with Damien Oliver on board, then he looks to be a knockout hope.

One who looks to be over the odds is Olmedo, who was simply outclassed in the Doncaster Handicap at Randwick last time out. Now with Annabel Neasham, the son of Declaration Of War does his best racing on firmer ground and has only run out of the quinella on one occasion in the past when second up. He looks to get a soft lead out in front and will take some catching if he is at his best.
