2017 Cox Plate exotic markets and betting tips

Winx margin tips
Punters have nine options to choose from, but we’re comfortable taking the shorter odds for a better chance of winning.
Given the margin of victory Winx inflicted on its opposition on the 2016 Cox Plate, we don’t see any reason why the champion mare won’t win by a similar margin.
We suggest taking either the Winx to win by five lengths or more ($1.40) or to win by six lengths or more ($1.55 at Sportsbet) option for the best chance of winning.
Winx exotic betting and tips
If punters are wanting a little more value for their Winx winning margin bet, the Winx winning margin between 6-8 lengths looks the best value.
It’s likely that Winx will win the Cox Plate around this margin and punters are getting a great price of $2.60.
The other options in this market seem unlikely, unless you’re willing to take the $1.15 about Winx running a quicker time than it did last year.
Cox Plate novelty bets
There are some hilarious betting options in the Cox Plate novelty bets market.
At the shorter end of the odds scale is the Cox Plate race record not to be broken (2:02.98) at $1.40 with Sportsbet.com.au, but there are some more exciting betting options for punters to dip into.
Our favourite option is whether Debbie Kepitis will wear her usual outfit to the races. Kepitis is one of the owners of Winx and she has a habit of wearing the same black and purple outfit, and now punters can bet against her fashion choices.
This is what her outfit looks like, but punters will get $5 if she wears something different. We’re not so sure that she will, but it could be a history-equalling day at The Valley so she might want to change it up a touch.
The “Queen of Racing” title has been thrown around the turf on many occasion, but will commentator Matt Hill use the phrase during his call?
We’re predicting that as Winx crosses the line, Hill might use that phrase or something similar. We’re not sure on the rules of this bet, but surely “Queen of the Turf” would count as a winning bet.
Regardless, Sportsbet is offering $2.50 for Hill to blurt that out during the run and punters also have the option of betting that Hill will call Winx a legend during the run ($2).
