Turnpike lines up for its fifth-ever race start and the Godolphin galloper is making improvement every start. The stable is flying at the moment and while the royal blue runner is yet to place, it has made headway with every start.

Race 1 tip: Turnpike to win at Neds

Race 2 – Maiden Plate (1000m)

We think Spring Choice will settle off the back of a white-hot tempo and deliver a strong performance. After a disastrous debut run the horse has finished a combined six parts of a length off the winner across two starts. First-up and fresh Spring Choice should be right in the mix.

Race 2 tip: Spring Choice to win at Ladbrokes

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1200m)

Hot Shot Harry is a dual acceptor that will be hard to hold out if it confronts this race. After finishing sixth on debut the Written Tycoon gelding recorded back-to-back second placings. Hot Shot Harry will find the lead very easily and take this out from the front.

Race 3 tip: Hot Shot Harry to win at Sportsbet

Race 4 – Maiden Plate (1500m)

The big layoff for What Lizahead is a huge worry for us going into this race, but the class of the narrow loss on debut at Cranbourne in November of 2016 suggests to us it’s a talented type. The Price stable doesn’t take unnecessary risks so we’re expecting an improved galloper.

Race 4 tip: What Lizahead to win at William Hill

Race 5 – Benchmark 58 (1500m)

Gondoliera has been terrific at this level over the last two runs, winning at Great Western last start on January 28 following a narrow nose margin at Ararat a week prior.

Race 5 tip: Gondoliera to win at Neds

Race 6 – Benchmark 58 (1500m)

I Taut I Saw is a last-start winner that has every possible chance to go back-to-back on Thursday. The claim will benefit greatly as will the lack of speed underneath it. The horse has a great record at this distance and will be right in the mix to do the business once again.

Race 6 tip: I Taut I Saw to win at William Hill

Race 7 – Class 1 Handicap (1950m)

Vanilla Gold has been in great form recently, finishing second in two races in a row. At BM58 level the horse finished beyond a length of the winner, but remarkably the horse stepped up in class and only just missed out. Vanilla Gold is a dual acceptor, but if it lines up here it’ll get the job done.

Race 7 tip: Vanilla Gold to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 58 (1000m)

What Girls Want is going to lead here and take some catching. The horse is second-up, where it has won and placed at in the past, and it has recorded a win at a higher level last preparation.

Race 8 tip: What Girls Want to win at Crownbet
