Yarra Valley full form & tips for Tuesday January 9

A HUGE ten race card awaits punters at Yarra Valley and after a slew of cancellations on Saturday a number of runners will be taking to the outer Melbourne suburb this Tuesday.

The 12.30pm ADEST kick off time means the afternoon will jam packed with racing and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Let’s get into it.

Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1968m)

We tipped War Piglet to break the maiden on the weekend, but after the meeting was called off at the ‘Bool the Henry Dwyer race team decided to race the horse on Tuesday. In a smaller field War Piglet can showcase the ability that has seen it progress with every run.

Race 1 tip: War Piglet to win at Sportsbet

Race 2 – Maiden (1009m)

Equilite is one of only a handful of the 14 runners that has had a race start in the past, and it is the only horse that has placed before.

It bodes well for a great run in a field dominated by first-starters.

Race 2 tip: Equilite to win at Neds

Race 3 – Maiden Plate (1209m)

Pieridae has never missed a placing in its career to date and looks well placed to breakthrough here. We expect the galloper to drift back from gate nine and storm over the top of them in the latter stages.

Conga D’oro is one of the only horses that has early speed in the event and after trialing it comes into the race fit. In an extremely weak maiden we believe it can go forward and take a world of beating from the front.

Race 4 tip: Conga D’oro to win at Sportsbet

Race 5 – Maiden Plate (1209m)

Royal Volley resumes after a layoff and we think it will be right in the mix here. The horse has placed first-up in the past and after not missing a place in its last preparation we think Royal Volley will return a better animal.

Race 5 tip: Royal Volley to win at William Hill

Race 6 – Class 1 Handicap (1009m)

Rioli resumes after a three month break where it has won previously in the past. The horse draws perfectly to just camp off the early speed which should be red-hot, and we believe it has the ability to win this one fresh.

Race 6 tip: Rioli to win at Crownbet

Race 7 – Benchmark 58 (1968m)

Princess Anacheeva was another tip for Saturday’s cancelled meeting at Mornington that we think can get the job done three days later. The horse has been consistent this preparation, missing the placings just once.

We think the horse can deliver a great performance after an elongated break.

Race 7 tip: Princess Anacheeva to win at Crownbet

Race 8 – Benchmark 64 (1209m)

Nil Desperandum is a beast that we think it is a progressive type. The horse has only finished either first or third in its four career starts to date and a win on Tuesday would be Nil Desperadum’s third success in five attempts.

Nil Desperandum is our best bet of the day.

Race 8 tip: Nil Desperandum to win at William Hill

Race 9 – Benchmark 58 (1514m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1177591_09]

Under God’s Sky may look to lead or at least be in the leading division from barrier two. The horse is third-up – where it has won previously – and we believe it will be ready to peak after two solid return runs.

Race 9 tip: Under God’s Sky to win at William Hill

Race 10 – Benchmark 58 (1514m)

[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1177591_10]

Lucente has placed in back-to-back events and the horse is making progression with every start. Lucente only missed out by a head at Moe in a benchmark 58 event and we believe it can go one better on Tuesday.

Race 10 tip: Lucente to win at William Hill
