It is Yarra Valley Cup day on Sunday afternoon where eight races are scheduled to be run and won at Yarra Valley. With plenty of rain expected throughout Saturday afternoon it would take a miracle to begin on a Good 4, as the track is currently rated as. On Yarra Valley’s marquee day the rail remains in the true position throughout the entire circuit and with racing set to get underway from 1pm we are set for a cracking day of racing come Sunday afternoon.
Yarra Valley Cup Tips – Race 6
The Yarra Valley Cup comes up in race six on Sunday afternoon, and the favourite from the Chris Waller stable, Skyman looks hard to go past. The win Skyman put together on Flemington on February 13 showed he has what it takes to get the job done here. He is arguably one of the class runners in the field, but from barrier one will need a touch of luck as he does his best running when settling in the second half of the field. If Skyman is afforded that luck then his turn off foot is better than most of his rivals that he meets here and should be stringing together consecutive victories.

Best Bet Of The Day – Race 7
We are looking for a Chris Waller / Damien Thornton race to race double when they combine with Rousseau in the third leg of the quaddie. Having broke through for a maiden victory two starts back at Pakenham the son of So You Think ran on strongly when finishing third last start at Sandown on March 3. He is another runner who tends to settle towards the second half of the field and from barrier three under Thornton should settle in the moving line one off the rail. With the key rivals My Diamonds Galore and Storm’s Colours expected to settle one pair in front of him, he should get a decent cart into the race and will be powering over the top of them late on in the piece.

Next Best Of The Day – Race 3
Having been well backed on debut into an odds-on favourite at Pakenham on February 18, favourite punters were left wanting more after a faltering seventh. It was revealed post race that the filly out of Zoustar had suffered from an irregular heart rhythm, so we are willing to forgive and forget and load up again. Signorina’s trial in the lead up to her debut was as good as you will see from an unraced three-year-old filly and having shown a bit of class at the trials we expect her to come across from the wide alley to take up the running and be too hard to catch over the 1000m dash.
