Wyong races betting preview – March 09, 2021
Eight races have been scheduled for Wyong on Tuesday afternoon. The track is rated a Soft 5 and the rail out +3m for the entire circumference of the course. The field for the first race of the day is scheduled to jump at 1:15pm.
Best Bet: Conrad
Kim Waugh’s two-year-old gelding Conrad has shown plenty of ability in just his three trials and debut race to be made our best of the day. The son of Maurice won two trials under a strong hold, and then was only narrowly defeated on debut at Canterbury by Mazu over 1100m. He steps out to 1200m which looks as though it will suit him, and James McDonald has elected to stay aboard which is a positive. He will be positive out of the gates from barrier five, and should go on to justify his odds on quote.

Next Best: Safaris
Five-year-old gelding Safaris is looking for his third straight victory after winning by a combine length at Tamworth and Scone, and he now looks ready to go on with the job. The son of Animal Kingdom left it right until the last second in his most recent effort, getting up to win by 0.2L under Samantha Clenton over the 1000m trip, so the added 350m is likely to suit, especially around Wyong. Drawn barrier five, he can settle in a close enough position to make his load at the business end lighter. Christian Reith will do the steering, and he carrier 2kg less than last time when he won as a short-priced favourite. He is very backable.
Race 7 – Safaris (#8)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1363080_07]
Best Value: If You Think So
If You Think So bolted in at any old odds two starts back in a Class 3 TAB Highway at Rosehill over the 1500m, before being run down very late in a similar race albeit over the 1800m at Randwick nearly a month ago. The Jeremy Sylvester-trained mare drops back to 1600m which will suit, and she keeps Kathy O’Hara on which is a plus. Having to carry no extra weight from her last start second, she can cross over to lead under her own esteem from the outside alley and give punters a real sight for their each-way bet. She may well pinch it again on Tuesday.
Race 6 – If You Think So (#6)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1363080_06]
