What Wyong Races
Where Wyong Race Club & Function Centre – 71-73 Howarth St, Wyong NSW 2259
When Thursday, July 24, 2025
First Race 12:20pm AEST

Wyong Race Club is the destination for provincial racing on Thursday afternoon, with a competitive eight-part program set down for decision. The rail is out 1m the entire circuit for the meeting, and with clear conditions forecast leading into race-day, punters can expect to be racing on a Good 4, with the opening event at 12:20pm local time.

Best Bet at Wyong: California Secret

California Secret has gone 4: 3‑1‑0 this campaign and now drops from Saturday grade into a provincial BM68 that looks tailor‑made. The Peter Snowden-trained three‑year‑old sat buried on the rail at the rear but still beat all bar Audrey’s Lane at Newcastle last start and maps for a perfect one‑one run from gate five under Mitchell Bell. California Secret’s class and race fitness should tell in the short Wyong straight.

Best Bet

Race 5 – California Secret Silks#2 California Secret (5)

3yo Gelding | T: Peter & Paul Snowden | J: Mitchell Bell (61kg)

Next Best at Wyong: Zamazing

Zamazing is screaming to win a race and finds a very winnable maiden over the Wyong mile. The Craig Carmody filly chased hard to miss by a neck over 1600m at Gosford on July 10 and now draws softly in barrier five. Winona Costin sticks, the track will have some give in it early which she relishes, and the speed looks moderate — perfect for Zamazing to dictate terms throughout and prove too hard to run down in the opener.

Next Best

Race 1 – Zamazing Silks#4 Zamazing (5)

3yo Filly | T: Craig Carmody | J: Winona Costin (55.5kg)

Next Best Again at Wyong: Burj

Burj looks a great price with horse racing bookmakers in an even Benchmark 64 sprint. The lightly raced Pride Of Dubai gelding has returned in fine form in two runs this prep, the latest a second at Gosford doing plenty wrong but only going down narrowly. Third‑up, drawn gate eight, and with Tom Sherry aboard, Burj can camp just off the leaders and finish over the top of her rivals in the third leg of the quaddie.

Next Best Again

Race 7 – Burj Silks#6 Burj (8)

3yo Filly | T: Peter Snowden | J: Tom Sherry (57.5kg)
