HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst has taken a look at the seven-race card at Wyong on Thursday and picked out his best bets and quaddie numbers for the day. The track is rated a Soft 5, the rail is in the true position for the entire course, and the first race of the day is set to jump at 1:50pm AEDT.

Wyong Best Bet – Gin Martini

John Sargent and Tommy Berry combine in the third race with a talented filly in Gin Martini, who is resuming from a spell. The flashy chestnut has had four starts to date, including a Group 3 placing and a midfield finish in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes behind Captivant and Hilal. The daughter of Rip Van Winkle has a brilliant turn of foot, which is needed as she tends to settle out the back in her races, but we are hoping that over 1350m and first-up from barrier six, Berry can use that to her advantage. Two trials leading into this run should have her fit.

Next Best at Wyong – Hypnosis

We made this runner our best bet last week, but the meeting at Hawkesbury was postponed and so we didn’t get to see him go around. Now, this Bjorn Baker-trainer four-year-old lines up in a very winnable Provincial 4YO & Up Maiden over 1100m which should be right up his alley. The son of Press Statement has had two runs this preparation for two minor placings over 1100m, so he should be peaking on Thursday. Barrier two gives jockey Brendan Lerena plenty of options, although he is likely to take the bull by the horns and look for the front.

Next BestRace 5 – Hypnosis (#1) $3 with Sportsbet

Wyong Value Bet – Zohan

Given we have made Hypnosis one of our best bets in the fifth race of the day at the $3 quote, we have to give a chance to Zohan at $14 after he beat that horse last time out. John Thompson and The Gong-winning rider Brock Ryan will team up with this four-year-old son of Zoustar in a 1350m Class 1 where he should definitely hold his own. In the field of nine, six horses are priced between $4.20 and $6.50, showing that the online bookmakers think it is a tricky race, but it also says to us that there is plenty of value to be had. Zohan won impressively last time at Hawkesbury over 1100m and was pulling away the last little bit, so there is no reason why he can’t measure up over 1350m. The $14 looks over the odds.

Best ValueRace 4 – Zohan (#4) $14 with Sportsbet
