What Wyong Races
Where Wyong Race Club – 71-73 Howarth St, Wyong NSW 2259
When Thursday, July 29, 2021
First Race 12:25pm AEST

Wyong Race Club is scheduled to host eight races on Thursday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst has picked out his best bets and top quaddie numbers for the card. The track is rated a Soft 5 with the rail out 3m for the entire circuit, and the meeting is set to start at 12:25pm AEST.

Wyong Best Bet: Lake Kastoria

Our best bet on the Wyong card comes up in the final race of the day, when the undefeated Lake Kastoria steps out over 1350m. The three-year-old Contributer filly as begun her career with consecutive wins at Hawkesbury and looks awfully hard to beat on Thursday afternoon. The Matthew Smith-trained runner’s natural racing pattern sees her settle close to the speed, and we anticipate Kathy O’Hara will use the horse’s early pace to sit her outside the leader. With race fitness on her side, Lake Kastoria should extend her unbeaten run to three with another win this week.

Next Best at Wyong: Sniper Legend

We were with the Matthew Vella-trained Sniper Legend at Gosford on July 15 when he ran into one better, but we anticipate the two-year-old son of Capitalist will bounce back into the winner’s stall at Wyong. His racing pattern is hard to dislike, where he jumps cleanly away from the barriers, dictates terms and offers a kick in the home straight. He gets the services of Kerrin McEvoy for the first time in his career, and despite drawing the widest barrier (#10) we expect Sniper Legend to build on his impressive career record (3:1-2-0) and be too good for this lot over 1100m.

Next BestRace 6 – Sniper Legend (#9) $3 with Sportsbet

Wyong Value Bet: On Her Word

In the opening leg of the Wyong quaddie, we are siding with the Rebecca Dunn-trained On Her Word as she pushes to get herself back in the winner’s stall. Despite winning just once from 11 races, the five-year-old mare has returned in fine form this campaign, chasing home the smart Duchess at Gosford at her first two runs back from a spell. She finds a Class 1 field with no Duchess in it this time around and looks hard to beat at a nice price. On Her Word will gain the services of Rachel King, who will look to lob her in the one-one position, and with even luck in the home straight she should prove hard to hold out.
