HorseBetting’s New South Wales form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie selections for the seven-race program at Wyong on Thursday, with top odds from Australia’s leading online bookmakers. The track is rated a Soft 5, the rail is out 3m for the entire course, and the first race of the afternoon is set to jump at 1:50pm AEDT.

Wyong Best Bet – Sachello

Matt Dunn and Reece Jones combine in the penultimate race with the three-year-old Sachello. This filly by Headwater was thrown in the deep end on debut when ninth in the Listed Woodlands Stakes, before spelling over the winter months and then winning back-to-back races on October 16 and November 2 respectively. Dunn then opted to take her to town, where she ran three lengths behind Shihonka at Rosehill, which reads well after that horse won again last Saturday at Randwick. Back to provincial company and back to 1000m, Sachello should be able to make the race her own from the front, assuming she jumps cleanly from barrier 12. Jones claims 2kg, meaning she will only have to carry a very competitive 55.5kg. She can lead all of the way.

Best BetRace 6 – Sachello (#7) $3.80 with Sportsbet

Next Best Bet at Wyong – Caboteur

In race three, David Payne will be hoping his three-year-old gelding Caboteur can breakthrough for a maiden victory at start five. The son of So You Think has been the runner-up on two occasions now, both of which have come by narrow margins. Interestingly, Caboteur has led throughout both times he has finished second, with his two average performances coming when he settled out the back, so we are hoping to see Keagan Latham take some initiative and look to lead from barrier four. Last time out, this horse put the pressure on early from in front and was only run down late by El Parmy in the driving rain at Canterbury in what was a real slog, so he should take plenty of fitness from that. This looks a good race for him.

Next BestRace 3 – Caboteur (#6) $3 with Sportsbet

Wyong Value Bet – Tim’s Principal

In the opening leg of the quaddie, Jeremy Gask and Reece Jones will team up with the evergreen eight-year-old Tim’s Principal. The gelding has had 43 starts for five wins and 18 minor placings, and while the 11% win rate doesn’t sound all that flash, he is undefeated at Wyong, albeit from just one attempt. That win on June 3 was his most recent when defeating Budwhar over 1350m, so he should enjoy getting back to this track. Since then, Tim’s Principal has run around behind the likes of Rubamos and Atlantic King on metropolitan tracks, so he is going to enjoy the drop in class. Jones’ claim means he carries 59.5kg in this Benchmark 64, while the outside alley simply means he can stay out of trouble out the back. The 1600m is going to suit, as will the track, so we are happy to be on at $6.50 at start 44.

Best ValueRace 4 – Tim’s Principal (#1) $6.50 with Sportsbet
