What Wyong Races
Where Wyong Race Club – 71-31 Howarth St, Wyong NSW 2258
When Thursday, April 29, 2021
First Race 1:10pm AEST

Seven provincial races are going to be run and won around the tight track at Wyong on Thursday afternoon. Good 4 conditions are the order of the afternoon, and the rail is in the true position for the entire circumference of the course. HorseBetting.com.au brings you all of our best bets and quaddie numbers for Thursday’s meeting, which is set to start at 1:10pm AEST.

Best Bet: Saquon

Paul Perry’s three-year-old gelding Saquon looks to be above average, as shown in his 4.5-length win at this track and distance last time out (albeit on a Heavy 9 track). The son of No Nay Never has had six starts, winning two and going runner-up in a further three, and while both wins have been on wet tracks, the form around tight courses at Gosford and Wyong could be the key. Drawn in barrier seven under brilliant front-running rider Tim Clark, we expect this gelding to take up the lead and be incredibly hard to run down. There is no reason why he cannot win this.

Best BetRace 6 – Saquon (#2) $2.50 with Sportsbet

Next Best: La Sagra

Godolphin filly La Sagra looks very hard to beat in the third, a 2100m Maiden Plate. Rachel King had a bit of a form slump during the Sydney Autumn Carnival but hit back hard at Randwick on Saturday with two winners, so we are confident that can roll over to Thursday. The three-year-old daughter of Snitzel was an odds-on favourite last start when second to the heavily supported Yellowstone over 1865m at Newcastle, although she managed to put 5.5 lengths on the third horse in that race. She should win this.

Next BestRace 3 – La Sagra (#9) $2.40 with Sportsbet

Next Best Again: Explosive Truth

Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott will be hoping their four-year-old gelding Explosive Truth can break through at start eight. The son of Spirit Of Boom has had seven runs and finished second on four occasions, but his form jumps off the page given he has been runner-up to the likes of Geo, Count De Rupee and Yulong Code. His last run came back in September, and he has now been the benefactor of two nice trials. This is easier, and he should get all of the favours from the inside alley under Sam Clipperton.

Next Best AgainRace 1 – Explosive Truth (#2) $1.60 with Sportsbet
