Werribee Racing Betting Preview – 30th December 2020
A rare eight race Wednesday meeting at Werribee is set down for judgement as punters look to build up the bank accounts for New Year’s Eve. It will be the track’s first meeting since the 6th of December which saw winners come from everywhere, meaning the rail being out 4m should be no disadvantage to runners who settle off the speed. With the track coming up a Good 4 and near perfect racing conditions forecasted we’re set for a cracking day of racing at Werribee.
The first race on Wednesday is set to jump at 1:30pm AEDT.
Race 8 – Turqoise Hope (#10)
We will be hoping that winning form is the right form for the Phillip Stokes trained Turquoise Hope who is coming into this BM64 off two consecutive victories at Ararat and then at Benalla. Despite drawing a wide barrier here at Werribee Turquoise Hope certainly has the early pace to overcome any issues that may come about with that. In both of those last two victories he has settled in the first four and has stayed there throughout doing better than any of his rivals over the concluding stages. As long as he does not get trapped three wide the trip he should be fighting out the finish here.
Race 6 – The Felon (#3)
The Maher and Eustace trained The Felon was bridging the gap to an all the way winner at The Valley last time out, but ran out of time to do so three weeks ago. Stepping back from a city race to a Class 1 out at Werribee should not hinder his winning chances, and despite drawing wide he has plenty of early speed to get across to the rails and dictate terms. The Felon has been beaten a combined 1.5 lengths in both of his starts this campaign when running into the minor money on both occasions. You would think if he runs up to that form here, he will go close to winning.
Race 5 – Kazoom (#5)
George Osborne and John Allen will be looking to get the now ten-year-old gelding Kazoom back into the winners’ stall as he steps back from city racing. Over the 2600m he will look to settle in the first half a dozen, or perhaps even dictate terms from out in front and if his last start 5th at The Valley didn’t take too much out of him, Kazoom should give a big sight at odds in the opening leg of the quaddie at Werribee.
