Addictive Nature wins at Warwick Farm

What Warwick Farm Races
Where Warwick Farm Racecourse – Governor Macquarie Drive, Warwick Farm NSW 2170
When Wednesday, March 31, 2021
First Race 1:30pm AEDT

Warwick Farm has its chance to host metropolitan racing on Wednesday after the club’s scheduled meeting last week was transferred to the Kensington track due to poor weather. The surface looks to have come through that setback reasonably well, with the track currently rated a Soft 6 and the rail out just the 3m for the entirety of the course. HorseBetting.com.au brings you our best bets, value tips and quaddie numbers for the meeting, which will kick off at 1:30pm AEDT.

Best Bet: Blesk

We’re confident ‘blesk’ is the sound disgruntled punters would have made when this four-year-old gelding from the John O’Shea yard crossed the line just a tenth of a length behind the winner as a well-backed favourite last time out. Prior to that, he motored home first up this prep behind subsequent Listed winner Equation over 1250m. Up to the mile on Wednesday looks the perfect recipe for the son of Savabeel. Tom Marquand takes the ride from the inside alley, which could be a slight concern for this big-striding Blesk, but we suspect they’ll come off the fence on Wednesday, so the runs should come. This is his time to shine.

Best BetRace 4 – Blesk (#6) $3.80 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Le Gai Soleil

John O’Shea had a day to remember last Wednesday and could be in for a similar sequence of events this week at Warwick Farm. O’Shea will leg up James McDonald to ride his talented four-year-old mare Le Gai Soleil in the sixth race on the card as she resumes from a spell. By Tavistock, this 1400m event looks a perfect stepping stone in what will likely be another successful campaign for the four-time winner. Drawn in the middle of the line in gate seven, she should get all of the favours in the run and be able to let down with her sharp turn of foot late. It will be on to bigger and better things this campaign and into the Brisbane Racing Carnival.

Next BestRace 6 – Le Gai Soleil (#8) $3.90 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Quiet Riot

Fastnet Rock gelding Quiet Riot was dominant first up at Canberra off a 12-month spell, leading all of the way to win by half a length eased down. While he has drawn awfully in barrier 15, the Bjorn Baker-trained four-year-old will be sent forward under Jason Collett in a race that lacks speed, which could prove the winning move. With form around Best Stone and All Time Legend, he should be too slick for this field over 1300m with extra fitness under his belt. This looks a nice way to end the day.

Best ValueRace 8 – Quiet Riot (#4) $7.50 with Sportsbet
