When Warwick Farm Racecourse – Governor Macquarie Dr, Warwick Farm NSW 2170
First Race 12:50pm AEST

HorseBetting.com.au brings you the best bets and quaddie numbers for Wednesday’s metropolitan meeting at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, June 2. A Soft 5 track is likely, with the rail out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and then 3m for the remainder of the course. The first of seven races is scheduled to jump at 12:50pm AEST.

Best Bet: Sur La Mer

Chris Waller and Brenton Avdulla combine with three-year-old filly Sur La Mer in the second leg of the quaddie. This daughter of Nicconi has had three starts for two runner-up performances and a victory. Avdulla gave this filly a lovely run in transit last time out at Newcastle and they careered away to win by nearly two lengths. Drawn in barrier two on Wednesday, Avdulla will have her in a nice spot on the fence to be close enough to strike late. We expect Sur La Mer to go back-to-back.

Best BetRace 5 – Sur La Mer (#11) $6 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Bethencourt

Kim Waugh’s big grey gelding Bethencourt has not yet found the form he had last campaign, but in saying that, he hasn’t been awful, finishing fourth and third respectively. The son of Puissance de Lune has won two of his six career starts and has never missed the places with James McDonald. Drawn in the middle of the pack in gate eight, McDonald is likely to push forward on Bethencourt to put him into the race and ride him like the best horse. Third-up should see him peak.

Next BestRace 6 – Bethencourt (#5) $2.90 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Sleipnir

The Hawkes camp saddle up three-year-old Sleipnir in a winnable 1400m Maiden Plate. The More Than Ready gelding has had just two career starts for two third-placings, with the form out of both starts proving to be pretty handy with a number of subsequent winners. His go-forward racing pattern will be suited to Warwick Farm, and having drawn barrier five, Tommy Berry should be able to make this happen. If Sleipnir doesn’t overdo it with the winkers on for the first time, we expect him to break through.

Best ValueRace 1 – Sleipnir (#1) $9.50 with Sportsbet
