NSW racing heads to Warwick Farm this Wednesday for a seven-part card kicking off at 2:20pm local time. The track is rated a Good 4, while the rail is out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and then 3m for the remainder. Here are some of the best bets on offer at Australia’s top bookmakers.
Nathan Doyle saddles up his talented mare Strawb, who is looking to bounce back here after a controversial run last time out. The five-year-old mare has won four from eight starts but only managed to beat two runners home at Newcastle three weeks ago when passed fit to run behind the gates. She’s been back to the trials since and won well, which suggests that she’s on target for this. Put a line through her first-up run – she should win this.

Shamani won in style last time out at Wyong and can go on with it here. The very lightly raced four-year-old mare lines up in just her third start and is looking at two consecutive wins after a three-length demolition job last time out. She stays at a mile, drops 2kg, gets Kerrin McEvoy aboard and maps well from barrier nine in a race with plenty of speed engaged. She looks hard to beat in this.

Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou will send Macleay around in his third career run to kick off his campaign. His trials leading up to his debut run were great, and he went on with that to win stylishly at start number two. Tommy Berry hops aboard and will have to deliver a pearler from barrier 14, but he should be able to slot in towards the tail and finish wide over the top of them. He can return with a big run here at a great price.
