Warwick Farm Races Betting Preview – January 6
Seven metropolitan races are scheduled for Warwick Farm on Wednesday afternoon. The track is rated a Heavy 9, with the rail out +3m for the entire circumference of the course.

Best Bet – Race 2 #7 Flexible
James Cummings’ three-year-old filly Flexible looks ready to win at start three on Wednesday. The daughter of Hallowed Crown was a disappointing favourite on debut when fifth of eight on the Kensington track, before running a much improved second at this track a fortnight ago. That run came on a Soft 7 over 1300m, so onto a heavy track and back to 1200m should suit. Rachel King is flying and stays aboard her here which is a plus as well. She looks classy enough to win here.

Next Best Bet – Race 7 #2 Escaped
Escaped can be winning the last race on the card at an each way price for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott. The four-year-old gelding has a cushy draw in gate 2 which should see Christian Reith take him to the front or take a sit of Knowitall Jack who is drawn wider and also races forward. His best form comes on wet tracks, so he will appreciate the slop, especially if it cuts up throughout the afternoon. 1300m will suit, and while he does have a big weight, he should be right in the finish.

Best Value Bet – Race 4 #7 Night Flyer
Brad Widdup saddles up Night Flyer the fourth, an 1100m Benchmark 72. The four-year-old All Too Hard mare comes into this first-up after a short break, but has trialled recently to bring her on for this assignment. Bred to enjoy the wet going, she has lived up to expectations so far, winning two from three on a heavy track. She’s only missed the place once when fresh, and gets Tom Sherry aboard who will benefit her due to his 2kg claim. From gate 3, she’ll settle in the back half of the field but will be rattling home late at a each way price.
