Warrnambool horse betting preview – Friday, February 5, 2021
Warrnambool hosts an eight-race card which is the first of two meetings in Victoria on Friday. As is always the case at The ‘Bool, a rain-affected track is expected with up to 10mm of rain forecasted. The rail is out 9m for the entire circuit, but the track tends to play fairly no matter the conditions. The first at Warrnambool is set to jump at 1:05pm AEDT.
Best Bet: Black Mirror
Patrick Ryan and Dean Yendall combine with Black Mirror, the mare out of So You Think, who chased home a highly impressive type first up and managed to put enough of a gap on her rivals to suggest she is the one to beat on Friday. Having over-raced early on in the going on January 25 over 1100m, she managed to pick off six of her rivals in an encouraging first-up display despite never really threatening the leader. She has wet-track form to her name, and as long as she settles better on Friday she should be too strong late and break her maiden at start seven.

Next Best: Six Bells
The Colin Little-trained Six Bells contested a red-hot fillies’ maiden prior to heading to the paddock, and that has proven to be a strong form race. That maiden featured Group racing contenders Miss Guggenheim and Pensato, and Six Bells was only a length and a half off the eventual winner. If she runs up to that form here, she should account for the rest of the seven-horse field with relative ease. With a 2kg weight advantage over market rival Andress, she should break her maiden tag here.

Best Value: Olympic Oath
Olympic Oath was a tough winner last time out over track and distance on January 25 and looks well placed to string together consecutive victories. The four-year-old gelding settled up on speed in that run, and we expect a similar approach to be undertaken on Friday. He will be right in this throughout and, if given the chance, could prove a knockout hope in the second leg of the quaddie.
Race 6 – Olympic Oath (#6)[rmOC_events_list event_ids=1360705_06]
