Waller wins Bris carnival trainers’ prize

Chris Waller couldn’t land a Group One winner during the winter carnival, but the leading trainer still had plenty to smile about at Eagle Farm.

Waller won the Super Six trainers’ competition that was run on stakes races over the six Group One days of the carnival.

He finished on 235 points on Saturday and that gave him a clear margin over Paul and Peter Snowden with 130 points.

Waller had the choice of a luxury car or a trip to the Kentucky Derby as his prize.

He selected the car.

“It is always a team effort and it isn’t Chris Waller winning the competition it is our stable. The win is a credit to all my staff,” Waller said.

Waller also donated $25,000 of his prize money to the Queensland Riding For The Disabled Association.
