Wagga tips & form for Sunday, March 4

WAGGA is hosting racing on Sunday and all eyes will be on the rural city as the weekend comes to a close.

Race seven on the card is a country championships qualifier, which will be a tightly contested contest. Let’s take a look at he tips for all eight events.

Race 1 – Maiden (1000m)

Sei Stella has trialed beautifully leading into this event and is the horse to beat. In a field littered with first starters the Matty Dale runner won by two and a half lengths at Canberra.

Bodice is looking to go one better after recording back-to-back second placings. The horse gets a great gate here and we think it can breakthrough at the 15th time of asking.

Across its last 10 runs Edge Of Manhattan has placed nine times, highlighting just how consistent the horse is without breaking through the the elusive win. We believe in this field Sunday should be the day.

Race 4 – Class 1 Plate (1600m)

Nothin’ Like Harry debuted brilliantly at Albury on February 16 as a huge outsider and it looms as a live chance heading into its next start. From gate three it looks well placed to deliver a win at the second time of asking.

I’m Imogen resumes here in a winnable race. The horse has placed first-up before and has trialed nicely leading into this race. The mare has won at this distance prior and we think it can get the job done.

Race 6 – Tom Patton Cup (1800m)

City Of Kirkwall is hunting a fourth-straight win and is poised to get it. The horse has been progressing nicely this campaign and is the best credentialed runner in the feature.

Race 7 – Country Championships Qualifier (1400m)

Bulala is in great form and looks well placed to record a hat-trick. The the last-start win was at BM65 level at Wagga, and the horse has never missed a place from three attempts. Back it in.

Race 8 – Class 3 (1000m)

Takookacod drops in class after a disappointing seven placed finish at BM753 level, but we think it can bounce back quickly. Prior to that run the horse recorded a half length win at Wagga and is unbeaten across two runs at the track.
