A bumper ten-race card is set down for judgement at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club in Wagga on Monday and HorseBetting’s New South Wales betting expert presents his best bets, top odds and free quaddie numbers. The meeting is set to be run on a Heavy 9, with the rail out 7m from the 1400m to the winning post. The first race is set to face the starter at 11:20am AEST.

Best Bet: Yeldarb

In the penultimate race on the card at Wagga, the Daniel McCarthy-trained Yeldarb will be searching for consecutive wins following a dominant win at Wangaratta on June 21. The six-year-old son of Nicconi was trapped three wide with no cover during the win at Wangaratta on a Heavy 9, but still managed to put close to two lengths on his closest rival whilst needing to lug 61.5kg after he claim of Hannah Williams. Williams sticks on board again which is a bonus and needing to only carry 58kg on Monday, we expect Yeldarb to find his way back into the winner’s stall. He has four wins from nine starts on Heavy ground and Monday should be the day he breaks through for his first win around Wagga.

Best BetRace 9 – Yeldarb (#2) $2.20 with Sportsbet

Next Best: Kitzbuhel

The Tim Donnelly-trained Kitzbuhel returns to Wagga, the scene of his last two victories from his last two starts. Despite needing to lug 64kg on Monday, he looks perfectly placed to make it a hat-trick of win at Wagga as he steps up to the 2500m for just the second time in his career. He has two wins from three starts on rain-affected ground, including his win at Wagga on June 11 on a Heavy 8. He will get similar conditions on Monday and from barrier three, we expect jockey ick Heywood to lob him into a position where he can gain an economical run and peel of the leaders’ heels in the home straight to continue his good form.

Next BestRace 3 – Kitzbuhel (#1) $2.40 with Sportsbet

Best Value: Sestina

Coming off a a narrow win at the Mudgee picnic races, the Daniel Gorrel-trained Sestina comes to Wagga in strong form. The six-year-old mare relishes heavy ground which she gets on Monday with two wins and second-placed finish from four starts on Heavy going. From barrier six, expect Jeff Penza to lob her into a position within the first four in running, If she can handle the step back into BM58 company, there is no reason why she can not give this a shake at a double figure quote.

Best ValueRace 6 – Sestina (#9) $8 with Sportsbet
